"The rising cost of fuel has created a demand for lighter weight products, the fact that composite materials are formaldehyde free, and our commitment to these units being Eco-friendly culminated in a huge wave of interest." Thus gushes Doug Lance, Pilgrim's CEO. Lance says that the concerns raised with hurricane rescue trailers being spiked with health-hazardous formaldehyde fumes has led many to look toward something--well--a little less gassy. Pilgrim's new Ultra and Supra brands are built with composite materials, as opposed to those with loads of plywood or other formaldehyde containing materials. Notwithstanding, says the happy corporate officer, "The weight savings by replacing wood with CosmoLite composites is so dramatic that we have been able to use less steel in the the chassis." One of the 'dieting' Pilgrim chassis have shed over 500 pounds in excess weight--eat your heart out, Jenny Craig. Pilgrim as "proud Papa" is throwing a big bash on an Indiana golf course on June 25 to show off the new lightweight e-ko friendly rigs. With all this weight loss in the air, will they serve up hot dogs and burgers? We'll never know, and you probably won't either. Apparently RV dealers make up the bulk of the guest list. Maybe Queen Latifah will take up hawking fifth wheels. Top of Page Get your FREE RV Travel Newsletter every week - sign up now.
