Pull Your Fiver With French Fry Oil?
It's an interesting--and cheap--concept. Fuel your tow vehicle with inexpensive (or free) recycled deep fat fryer grease. One fifth wheel owner does it--and he'll install the system on your pickup for you. Check out the story on our sister blog, RVs in the News.

Saw a couple of things on this. There is a guy in So Cal that does the conversion, it is basically dual fuel, you start it on regular diesel, let it warm up then switch it over to french fry oil.
I saw an article on the Sundance Channel's green planet show where he races his 7.3PSD Expedition on fryer oil he just used to do chickens with at the race track. It is a great way to show folks the viability of this technology.
Problem is getting fast food people to hand you their old oil. My local chains would not do it, they have a contract for disposal and the state has some strict compliance issues on how they have to get rid of it. Sounds like the state needs to start looking at changing or making allowances for this technology.
