Tools provide stretching power to RV awning

So what do you do when you extend your fifth wheel's awning and discover it's full of folds and wrinkles? Bring out your tools, that's what! A camp host at Newport, Oregon's South Beach State Park pulled out his Crescent wrenches, pliers and other heavy metal tool box objects, and hung them from his awning to provide a little tugging power. The awning looked pretty darn good when we passed by, so the tools apparently did the job.

Hey, and this is a great idea for storing tools too! They will be easy to find and because they are so decorative (if you first clean them) you won't need to hang those other decorative lights. Heck, if you hang them close enough together, you'd even have wind chimes.

You can also put a nipple on your water heater pressure valve, then hook up a hose and spray nozzle and spray the awning with hot water. Not quite as decorative as the wrenches, but effective.

Just remember to keep your awning high enough or you'll need to hang the first air kit also.
