Georgia Awash In a Sea of Motor Coaches

Ever tried boiled peanuts? They sell them here in Georgia and I like them. They remind me of the texture of kidney beans. If you’ve never tried them, you can make them yourself, but I’ll save that for the cooking blog. The Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) convention in Perry, Georgia is winding down after a big week. So far everything is going like clockwork without a hitch. Here are the statistics for this rally: There were 4,830 motor coaches in the camping areas. Of these 3,820 were FMCA members, 260 were exhibitor coaches and the rest were non-members.There were 556 coaches on display and 194 demonstration coaches available for a test drive. Here's Flaky the Clown taking a test drive himself.
There were a total of 1,010 exhibitors at the rally and over 800 volunteers helped make this convention a success. If you needed anything RV, then this was the place to get it or learn about it.If you missed this rally then sign up now for the next rally in Redmond, Oregon August 13-16, 2007.

Also, if you really want to know more about the history of boiled peanuts and how to prepare them go here: http://whatscookingamerica.net/History/BoiledPeanutsHistory.htm

  • My wife and I attended the F.M.C.A. rally in Perry, GA and it is a must go to for all RVing folks. We were volunteers and parked with the exhibitors and just had a great time. This was our first F.M.C.A. function but it will not be our last. We have been fulltimers for 4 years and RVing for 27 years and this Rally is the ultimate for people in this lifestyle.

  • my wife and i signed up for the rally in january and recieved the info only a week before the rally.we arrived @ 6:15 p.m. friday and were told to go park at wal-mart because they were no longer parking rigs our info pack said check in was from 1-5 and we assumed because we were pre registered we were already checked in, to our dismay we were placed in lot 5 not lot 4 as our resevation had stated, after pleading with security they allowed us to park on the roadside outside the entrance.we thought surely they would park rigs until at least dark, we have been to rallies similar to this one before and have been able to be escorted to a site and helped with hook-up for alot less money than what we spent to come to this must see rally.we felt as though the event was very unorganized and dissapointing. one last comment is about the water and sewer service A-OK not so ok purchased services we never did receive. don"t expect you"ll see us next year thanks for the worst rally weekend my wife and i have ever experienced.
