Are You Safe At The Rest Area?
I once saw a passenger door completely bent back by a passing car in a similar situation. Here anyone stepping out of the coach is in danger. I don’t even want to think about kids or pets jumping out of this coach the way it’s parked. Bottom line, be aware and be safety conscious at all times when operating your RV. Be safe out there! A friend parked in a rest stop for the night and a transport and trailer got too close and broke the steps for his fifth wheel trailer. It's best to take a second look at how someone could get to close and damage the unit. A sllepy driver could make a mistake as well.

Seems to me that he or she has parked in a no-parking spot. Can't see any parking lines. Terrible to risk injuries or damage. Shame on the driver??

Oh my! What a disaster waiting to happen. Seems to me he or she has also parked in a no parking area – no parking lines are visible. The oil stream on the pavement suggests it is a travel lane for vehicles. Anyone heard of parking in the truck area?
Rick.

The oil stains are probably from tractor trailers and big rigs parking there. Not all rest areas have provisions for these type vehicles, but I agree the steps should have been put in the automatic mode, retracting on the door being closed.

The curb where he parked is painted yellow. This almost always means "No Parking".

Sorry folks but that restop offers only that lane for big rigs and travel rigs. We have stopped there over 20 times in 30 years ! And no we don't lock out the step and no we don't exit or enter unless there is No oncoming traffic. Louisana, Texas, New Mexico have some pretty tight slots for big rigs.

I agree 100% with the previous post. Red means no parking. It isn't dangerous parking there unless you are careless. I have traveled places and feel sorry for RV drivers and trucks that have to park in the condition. So they were legal parking there. Would you rather have them park up some on the highway or highway entrance? Now that could get pretty ugly.

LETS REMEMBER THAT TRACTOR-TRAILOR RIGS REQUIRE THIS LANE TO TURN INTO PARKING STALLS. THEY BEND IN THE MIDDLE AND ANYONE PULLING A LONG CAMPER TRAILOR OR 5th WHEEL CAN TELL YOU WHAT THAT MEANS. ALWAYS PARK WHERE TURNING RIGS CAN'T "WONDER" INTO YOU-THEIR REAR WHEELS TRACK MUCH TIGHTER THEN THE FRONT WHEELS. JUST FRIENDLY FOOD FOR THOUGHT..BEAR
