Keep Creepy Crawlies Out Of Your Exterior Appliance Compartments
I recommend a small glass container with a metal lid. Drill a few small holes in the top.
Fill the container with the moth ice crystals.
Clean off a spot in the exterior refrigerator compartment and put a ball of museum putty or the like on the bottom of the jar to hold it in place.
Firmly affix it inside the compartment and replace the cover.
That’s it, now you don’t have to worry about unwanted visitors that can clog up your system. JimLabels: Exterior, Pest Control

Do be careful! Moth balls in general are made out of Naphthalene (Carbon + Hydrogen) which is a flamable component. See http://environmentalchemistry.com/yogi/chemicals/cn/Naphthalene.html

We have a quarterly pest control service that sprays our house for bugs. A couple of years ago I asked them if they would treat the camper while they were out. They did and we haven't seen a bug on the camper since, not even an ant! And, they did not even charge me extra for this service.

My husband has done this for years. It also helps keep away rodent. We have had mice and rats get in and eat the heating ducting and hoses in the engine compartment. He takes old prescription bottles, drills holes in the tops and fills them with the strongest smelling moth balls we can find. Usually the real cheap ones at Dollar stores work well. Then he hangs them from framework in the engine compartment, around the tires and anywhere else he suspects the "critter"s try to come in. He always removes them before starting the engine or driving.

We were having spider problems in the hot water heater compartment and mentioned this to our RV repairman--he told us to use a new dog flea collar (brand did not matter) we haven't had any problems since. He said you can use the whole collar or cut it in half-use the other half somewhere else-the spiders and other pests don't like the odor of the collar. To keep out mice and other rodents, try dryer sheets, like Bounce. I put them in all drawers and lower cabinets-have not had any problems since I started using them. I change them twice a year.
