Outlaw Toy Hauler Morphs Into Class A Motorhome

This unit is called the “Outlaw” and it’s a 2007 gas powered class "A" toy hauler/motorhome model 3611 by Damon. What I like about this machine is the level of comfort built into it as well as its inherent versatility. You’ll be able to ride your dirt bike all day and recuperate in the comfort of the spacious RV living quarters at night. There is a nice loft bed over the “garage”. However, you have to climb a set of spiral stairs to get there. Given the compact nature of this rig, it has a good sized shower. The slide-out contains a dinette and an air mattress hide-a-bed. The garage has a high ceiling at one end for tall stuff (also you won’t hit your head when you ramp up your four wheeler). It also has a fantastic vent to expel any unpleasant odors, hmm... is that your's truly in the picture? You can move the TV from inside to outside with a hook-up in one of the cargo bays and it comes equipped with a 5.5 kW Onan generator to power your weekend! So how much weight can you put in the garage? It will safely hold 2,000 lbs with the workhorse chassis. So that means you can throw in a couple of your favorite toys for the weekend and get away from your in-laws in your Outlaw. How much will this cost you?

  • I look at the toy haulers and think the RV manufacturers have an opportunity they are missing.

I don't have toys that need a garage but I do need an office for 2 while on the road because I publish a magazine.

At least this model, up front, doesn't look like a military vehicle but that garage could be a real office with the correct amenities.

Too bad they don't consider a modular garage approach where any Toy Hauler can quickly be configured into whatever the customer needs.

  • A unique use of the garage area I have seen at Camping World is the installation of a high grade, triangular, two person, hot tub. This is a 120V unit with removable cover that works perfectly with the Outlaw electrical system. The display unit is set up with a large double drapery across the tail gate area, nice folding chairs and small table, a couple of potted plants, and a few other small accessories for a "tropical" theme. The tailgate was dropped down level on jacks with a barbecue grill, Tiki tourches, and more chairs and a larger table. To see all of this when you open the interior door from the living area to the garage is a real shocker! Not at all what people expect to see in a motorhome - and it all folds up and is enclosed in the garage when traveling ( with the 150 gallon hot tub drained, of course!)

  • I like the idea, but they need to drop the bed and have the storage area for toys, as just that. if tight who cares. The room for getting into the bedroom needs to be adjusted. Less stairs. more bedroom for us older types

  • I'd like a toyhauler with a drop down bunk above the cab, and 2 double sized bunks on lifts in the back, with the bottom bunk turning into a sofa, and room for a desk and chair in the toyhauler space, infront of the bunks. I saw a trailer like that, and loved the idea. That way, I could program software while wife drives and the toyhauler room is my office. Then when its time to sleep, I can drop the bunk beds down hydraulically in the back and the one in the front and all six of us can sleep without having to make a couch into a sofa. Or, when I'm not using the office, the kids can use it for homeschool.

  • I agree that toy hauler manufacturers are missing a huge market by not offering flexible configurations in the garage for telecommuters. Why not offer a murphy bed / wall bed that converts to a desk - or one that leaves room for a corner desk in the bedroom? I have found these for homes, but not for RVs. Double power bunks in back are great for the kids, but my wife and I are the ones who need the privacy of a garage bedroom. It amazes me how most RVs are designed for the retiree crowd. As fuel prices rise, those of us who are mobile business owners with families will be the only ones left on the road (We can take a tax deduction on our fuel costs).
