RVers Waiting Longer at Camping World?
I like Camping World, but the last few times I’ve gone in the store I’ve had to wait a long time for service at the service desk and in the check-out line. I’m not complaining, just making an observation. Last week I had to wait in line while one worker talked on the phone and another employee looked through paperwork and another worker played around on the computer. As I stood there I looked around the store and saw other employees doing other stuff but were not assisting customers.
After I waited in line for about 12 minutes (I was the first person in line), I was helped. The service person found the part I needed which meant I now had the privilege of waiting in line at the cash register to purchase the item for which I just waited in line. (Murphy's law says that there is no one in line at the check-out until you are ready to check-out yourself.) You meet a lot of nice and interesting people while waiting in line, so it’s not a complete waste of time. I’m not sure I could make things any better if I was the store manager, but I would sure try.
Maybe I'm just getting impatient as I get older because this seems to be happening not only at Camping World but at WalMart, Target and other stores as well. Could it be that "customer service" is declining everywhere in our society? What has been your experience lately? Let us know good or bad in the “comments” section below. JimLabels: RV Stores

You are absolutely 100% right. There is no customer service. Everywhere you go they act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you and taking your money for what is sometimes a poorly fixed meal or product not up to par.
More people need to speak up and stop shopping at these places, except maybe there wouldn't be any place to shop because almost all places are like that these days.
They take your money and put your purchase in a bag without ever acknowledging you as a person. Sorry state of affairs.

Now you know why their same store sales are declining quarter after quarter. They keep opening new stores that are based on a flawed customer service model. It's almost as if Camping World is trying to franchise poor service.

Not only do they have poor pre-sales service, wait until they work on your rig! Then you find out what poor really means.
I've yet to have them do anything more complicated than fill the Propane and not have problems. The exception being just one one of their techs. I've gone to pick up my rig and spent a hour watching the service manager fix the problems they caused because the offending tech had already left for the day.
I've told CW that this particular tech may no longer work on my rig. This after he installed an illegal pressure reducer on the propane tank (motorhome), lost a sewer hose when he worked on the macerator pump, turned off all my gas appliance valves when he worked on the macerator (why?) and then left them off.
CW = Continuous Worry (if you use them)

I thought I was the only one to notice this attitude that employees of Camping World display. The question is why does this happen? Why are customers treated like we are doing them a favor by being there?
Many of their employees are part timers who live in RV's who are miserable because they have to work when they were suppose to be enjoying retirement like many of Camping Worlds' customers are doing. I've met several employees at parks where we stayed and they hated to have to work while their spouses and friends did not. Just my opinion.

I am very disappointed with their RV service Dept. in the Churchville, NY location. Poor customer service, getting put on hold numerous times and forgotten about. Poor mechanical service in gerneral. Not recmommended!

We are new trailer owners and live
near a Camping World Store. We bought anti freeze at the store. The first time we were sold $15 gallon anti freeze( what a price shock). On our second visit the server was more knowledgeable and sold us antifreeze at $4/gal. the correct antifreeze for our trailer.

I have to side with the employees. I have been retail for the last 15 years, and the attitude of the customer has changed greatly. The customer is not always right, however they are always a customer. When we say Good Morning answer us, when we say Thank You answer us alittle effort on your part would help. I have stood behind people who complained because the have to wait in line. Why don't they open more lanes, maybe because we all came at once. Maybe you should not shop at the busiest time of the day, week, or year. These companies but big demands on the customer service reps with out additional help or proper training. I have been a Camping World customer for years and will continue to be one. I have never been treated poorly. When I go shopping I realize it will take time. So no rushing for me. I will not leave frustrated .
Chill!!!! And if you complaint sign you name.
Live longer in Florida
