Taking the RV to see Dolly? Get it washed 'automatically'
Russ and Tina DeMaris
Sevierville, TN -- Mama's 'Coat of Many Colors' may have help make Dolly Parton famous. And Dolly's made Sevier County famous. But watch out, Dolly, now in the RV world, Dollywood may become second to the Dolphin Car Wash just up the road.
Just what dolphins, RV washes, and Dolly Parton have in common could only be a story that comes straight out of the Ozarks.
Sammy and Jackie Hall moved to the heart of the Smokies country some time back. It didn't take long for them to see the large number of RVs that rumble through this popular tourist area. But those old Smokies aren't just smokey, they can be downright muddy. Roll your fifth wheel through a few muddy ruts and the sight can be, well, just dad-gum atrocious.
The Halls picked up the phone and called an automatic car wash equipment company. Could they build them a car wash system big enough for RVs? Why 'sho nuf! Purty soon, Dolphin Car Wash was churning out clean machines for just about $60 a clatter.
What do dolphins have to do with the Smokey Mountains? Well, seems that the Halls had come from Florida, and their favorite football team? The Dolphins. Who else?
Side by side, even considering her age, we don't think that the 'Backwoods Barbie' has much to worry about in terms of real competition.
