Newest KOA opens in Colorado River gambling town

Enjoying the good life at a KOA campround.

Kampgrounds of America's newest park is an oasis in the Southern Nevada desert in Laughlin. The Laughlin/Avi Casino KOA is located adjacent to the popular Avi Resort and Casino on the banks of the Colorado River a short drive south of the Laughlin strip.

The campground is part of a $31 million expansion at the resort/casino complex that includes a doubling of the casino's floor space, as well as the addition of new restaurants, a concert center and meeting space.

The campground itself features 260 RV spaces that include large, pull-through campsites, as well as 50-amp electrical service, cable television and wireless internet as well as a year-round swimming pool.

Golfers can play the 18-hole Mojave Resort Golf Club, located adjacent to the Avi. Water enthusiasts can sunbathe at a white sand beach with a private boat launch area. Personal watercraft can be rented at the beach club. The Avi Resort's new lagoon-style pool, with a separate children's pool, will be ready in April.
