Editor's CornerBy Chuck Woodbury
Welcome to the 300th issue of the RVtravel.com newsletter, now in its seventh year with 72,000 weekly readers, more than any other online RV periodical by a long shot.
Our first issue was scheduled and then published the week of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Whatever I had originally written for that edition was put aside. Instead, I simply issued a statement that whatever I might say about RVing paled in significance to the tragic events of Sept. 11. And so the first regular issue debuted Oct. 11, 2001. At the time, I was still working in my garage with one phone line and one computer. The entire inventory of RVbookstore.com fit onto one shelf about five feet wide.
We published every-other week for a few months, but soon switched permanently to weekly. In all those years we have missed only two issues, both due to technical problems. With rare exception, I have loved writing and editing all 300 issues. I have met thousands of readers through email, and hundreds of others on the road or at public events. It's been an exciting and rewarding journey that I plan to continue until the ol' typing fingers and/or brain get feeble.
This newsletter is responsible more than anything else for the success of our business, which now occupies a small warehouse and employs several people. My very special thanks to Zoey, Jody and Erin for their hard work, dedication, and their commitment to learning something new every single day, and to being better tomorrow than they were the day before.
And thank you for reading this newsletter. Without you, it wouldn't amount to a hill of beans!

No problem voting for New Hampshire full-time RVers
New Hampshire residents and visitors to the state who live full time in RVs can vote there under most circumstances. Nationally, the U.S. Census says more than 100,000 Americans live full time in RVs, and many of them are uncertain about where they can vote or have had their voting rights taken taken away. In some states, election officials have purged RV residents from their voting rolls if their only official address is a post office box. But there's no problem in New Hampshire.

Check out our RV Travel Forum discussionsTow dolly and non-locking steering wheel
I have a front wheel drive 1999 Pontiac Grand Am with auto tranny and non-locking steering wheel. I want to tow this car south for the winter. I have been told that it cannot be towed on a tow dolly. Others say yes it can, but you have to tie off the steering wheel. Still others say it is ok as it is. Any input on this subject? I also have a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan that I would like to tow on this dolly. But like the Pontiac, it too is front wheel drive, auto tranny and non-locking steering wheel.
Which one? Advice please for a newbie
Planning to purchase our first travel trailer. We are currently looking at a 2006 Cherokee 28A+ bunkhouse (with 2 slides) and the other is a 2005 Wildwood M29+3 bunkhouse (with 1 slide). Both are below book value an in excellent shape. Both have things we like and we would probably be happy with either unit. I have the truck to pull either. There is about a one-thousand dollar difference between the 2006 and the 2005. My question is since I am new, is there a distinct quality difference between the Cherokee and the Wildwood that we should take into account? Both are made by Forest River, I believe. Is one line basically higher quality than the other? Are they both directed toward entry level RVers?
Power/speed?
How fast will an RV go? We have a 1990 27' Jamboree with a Ford 460 C6OD with 48k. Up hills in wind, it tops out at 50-60 mph. Is that about right or could I have a problem? Flat out no hills or wind, it runs 70-75. We would like to start pulling a trailer or small car next summer.
Generator size?
I have a Zeppelin 30-foot travel trailer which is 30 amp. I'm really confused on generators as they are rated in watts. My math skills were bad in school and have not gotten any better! What size generator would I need to supply my travel trailer with the correct amount of amps?
Falling upper cabinets
We have a 2002 Fleetwood Bounder Class A motorhome, and the cabinet above the windshield and along the side of the driver's seat is coming down from the ceiling and away from the wall. All I know is that the studs are made of aluminum and are not on center. I live on Long Island in New York but I will travel to get this repaired. Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this problem or where can I have it done?
