RV Shows
Impressions of the Quartzsite RV Show Big Top
By Jerry (RiverGuy) Brown

Quartzsite, Ariz., RV Show Big Top

Every year starting in early January, the small western Arizona town of Quartzsite is transformed almost overnight into a thriving desert city. Tens of thousands of RVs descend on the town and surrounding desert. The free or low cost dry camping in the Arizona sun is not the only attraction.

The Quartzsite Sports Vacation and RV show is one of the nation's largest. And within walking distance is the Gem and Mineral Show (Prospector's Panorama). The variety of products and services on display in and around the Big Top was truly amazing. I took a few shots of things that caught my eye.

Pet RV, Grizzbo

For starters, here's an unusual RV gift idea: Pet RV. Get your plush stuffed fifth wheel or Class A.

Ford Deluxe Coup - nice toad

The Rock and Roll Classic Car Show isn't for a couple of weeks, so I'm not sure what this Ford Deluxe coupe was doing in the big top. But it definately brightened things up. Tow that!

Metal sculpture menagerie

I'm really not sure what this guy was doing at the RV show with his 8 foot tall brass horse sculptures and the rest of his metal menagerie. Maybe he got lost...

Anyone need a moose? You could use your dolly to take it on the road with you.

Deco seats for the RVer with everything

For the RVer looking to liven up their bathroom facilities, we offer decorative seats. Might make unique wall hangings too.

Live Andean music at the Big Top

I am a big fan of Andean folk music, so I enjoyed my lunchtime burrito to the accompaniment of their catchy flute tunes.

I felt bad for the guitarist huddled back there in the shade; it was nice and warm in the sun. Typical Quartzsite January weather.

Roughing it at the RV Show

These RVers may have a hard time making it to all the exhibits. Or maybe they've already completed their shopping.
