Camp on an island RV park in New York

The Thousand-Island region of New York has a jewel just for RVers. It’s called Association Island RV Resort and Marina in Henderson Harbor, and, yes, it’s an island!

Situated on Lake Ontario, the island is reached by a mile long “driveway” from the mainland. According to the management, “The resort is situated on an island with 65 acres, a well-protected marina, picturesque shoreline, breath-taking lake views, and spectacular sunsets. Our island enjoys a refreshing breeze throughout the summer, for great sailing or just for cooling off as you fish or just relax "away from it all"”.

The park, which opened in 2002, has been making improvements ever since. The park has 435 sites, an “Island Bar and Grill”, wireless internet, 5 cottages, 80 marina docks, bath-house, and for 2006, they’ll be opening a new conference center.
