Comments for RV comes with a big soaking bathtub!

  • My question is: where is the hot water for this tub coming from? Certainly the 6 gallon or even 10 gallon water heater won’t cut it!

    • Exactly right! This tub looks like the one we have at home – and it strains our 50 gallon hot water heater to fill.

This strains even the term “glamping”. Over the top comes to mind.

  • Nice layout except for the placement of the toilet in the way of accessing the shower in the back bathroom. My wife has been asking for a soaking tub quite a while. This shows how 5th wheels have had much more imagination in their layouts than motor homes ever have had.

    • You would need to be hooked up. No way could the holding tanks — fresh water or gray — deal with all that water.

  • It would be nice to sit in a tub on occasion. Just another option. You don’t have to get it if you don’t like it

  • Only if it came with a demand water heater. We had one in our 2000 Dutch Star. It made for a roomier shower, and the dog liked having a bath better in the tub. My wife would have liked soaking in it but with only a 10 gallon water heater there wasn’t enough hot water to soak.

  • I miss having a tub, but I wouldn’t give up closet space for it. Our Solitude has a huge closet across the front, where that tub is. This Montana doesn’t seem to have much in the way of closet space.

  • I’ve never had an RV, but my husband and I are considering this rather than rent a place for a year to see if we like an area before buying a house. I’m not sure what my options are for buying, renting, or leasing and best options for long term for two people and 3 house cats. Military pensions are small.

I’m disabled and need a bathtub, but one that’s also a shower. Also, on demand water heaters seem a no brainer for an RV. Why isn’t there any? How absurd! I don’t need two TVs or extra beds… An office area for a computer and storage would be more useful. But hey, I’m new. So where do you put a cat litter box in here? Haha The 3 cats could use an attachable pet enclosure that doesn’t use a human door. Is there anything kind of suited to my needs?

    • Jennifer,
Check out the Truma on-demand water heaters.

Virtually all of what you want is available on some models of RVs, or as add-ons or modifications. Buying an RV takes a lot of research. You don’t just walk up like to you do in a store and grab what you like off a shelf. Good luck!
