A proposition for Wal-Mart about overnight parking
From "D.G." in "B.G."
Hi Chuck,
We often stop at a Walmart while traveling late at night. Hunting for a campground on back roads in the dark just isn't any fun, nor is trying to get around obstacles and other vehicles once you're there. As Walmart hopes, we always have things we need to buy while we're at a store. I hope things improve with Walmart's present policy of allowing RVers to stay overnight in their parking lots and not continue to deteriorate as more stores put out "no overnight parking" signs.
I'd like to suggest that Walmart install a box located outside their stores with color-coded passes that would be good for 24 hours. All an RVer would need to do is get a pass from the box and hang it in the front window, turning it back in when they left. Anybody over-staying their color-coded pass day would be asked to leave or get another pass issued by a store manager. The one day passes would need to be available in a box outside because not all Walmart stores are open 24 hours a day. Should Walmart consider this idea and put it to use, perhaps stores that have closed their parking lots to us would reconsider and give us another chance to be good neighbors.
