RVers camping by border should be cautious

| Be cautions near the border, the Border Patrol advises. |
RVers planning to dry-camp near the Mexican border should be cautious but not concerned about illegal activity, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
Drug runners and illegal immigrants crossing the border are likely to be too absorbed in their mission and too leery of detection to bother boondocking RVers, a Border Patrol spokesman said. Nonetheless, he added, RVers who notice suspicious activity near the border should make no attempt to intervene. Instead, they should stay in or near their unit, engaging in normal behavior. If possible, call the Border Patrol at 1-877-USBP-HELP and report the activity.
Also, the spokesman said, don't tempt drug-runners or illegal immigrants by leaving an RV unattended for more than a day.
