Posting Photos on the Forum |

We all love seeing pictures of new places, and it’s even more fun to put names and faces together. With today’s technology it’s as easy as 1-2-3! Here are the steps to share your pictures with other forum members:
1. Uploading Your Pictures
I'm going to assume that you know how to get your digital pictures from your camera to your computer. Just remember the name of the folder you put them in. It’s helpful to use a new folder for each new trip or “experience.”
Now it’s time to create an account with a free online service called Photobucket (www.photobucket.com). Once your account is created, log in and click on “My Albums.” Follow these easy steps to upload your pictures:
• Before choosing the files/pictures you want to upload, you need to choose a size for your pictures. There is a drop-down box labeled “Reduce to” in the Upload area. The recommended picture size for using in threads is 640X480 (large).
• Click on “Choose Files.” Remember the name of the folder on your computer – you’ll need that to find the pictures to select.
• Highlight the file/picture you want to upload. If you want to do more than one at a time, you can by holding the control button and clicking on more than one file/picture.
• Once you’ve chosen the files/pictures to upload, click the “Open” button. They will automatically upload and appear on your screen in your “album.” You’re now ready to transfer (link) your pictures to an RV Travel thread!
2. Preparing the Photos
Once your pictures are stored in Photobucket, it’s time to get them into your new post! Besides storing your pictures, Photobucket has a variety of editing tools. If you didn’t edit your pictures before uploading them, you might want to take some time to do that before posting them in a thread, especially if the picture is oriented the wrong way. Click on the “Edit” button to work on your pictures.
• Underneath each photo there will be four “links.” These are like an address, directing the viewer to your pictures.
• For sharing in a post, click on the bottom link, the “IMG code.” When you click on this, it will quickly tell you that you’ve copied the code and it’s ready to be inserted in your thread post.
3. Creating a Photo Post
It’s helpful to already be logged into the RV Travel Forum and in the thread you want to post to. You can switch between RV Travel and Photobucket as you work without closing either site.
• You should type whatever caption or narrative you’d like to add to the thread first. After doing so, simply right-click your mouse and select the “paste” function. You will see the “IMG code” appear in the text box – NOT the photo itself. It will appear when you click the “Preview” button before submitting your post.
• You can repeat this process by going back to Photobucket and copying the “IMG code” for more pictures you’d like to add to your post.
• Once you’re satisfied with your work, hit “Submit.” Your photos will appear along with your descriptions.
Good luck! _________________ Best--
