I am taking off on a roadtrip soon. I'll list here where I know I will be, when I know ahead of time. I'll pick a public place. If you are in the area and available, please stop by and say hi. I'll update this list as my trip unfolds. Tentatively, I am headed to Arizona. Stops along the way will be Laughlin, Nev., Quartzsite and Lake Havasu, Ariz., and the Phoenix and Tucson areas (with lots of places along the way).

99 PERCENT SURE I WILL BE AT THE PLACES LISTED BELOW AT THESE TIMES (But check here before you head off in case I can't make it)

Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009: 11:40 a.m. Flour Garden Cafe in Glenbrook Plaza, Grass Valley, Calif.

Hi folks,

Boy, I forgot to post here during my trip, which is nearly over. But I did keep a running account of my whereabouts on Twitter. You can sign up to view these short postings using the link below.

I'm in Sacramento, Calif., now and will be back home in Edmonds, Wash., next Wednesday. My trip will have lasted a month -- most of the "quality" time spent in Arizona, where I enjoyed the sun and warm temps. No wonder so many RV snowbirds head there every winter.

I just posted the latest issue of the RV Travel newsletter, where I wrote some more about the trip. You can read it here:

If anyone is curious, at this moment I am in the upstairs computer room. I will be downstairs in the kitchen at approximately 11:55 AM.

Hi everybody,

Sorry I haven't updated this earlier. I'll visit here more often with updates. I'm in my hometown of Edmonds, Wash., (just north of Seattle) now -- probably will be through the end of the year. I will hit the road in January or February in my RV to seek out some sunshine in the Southwest. But I spend a lot of time in my motorhome even now. It's parked in our RVbookstore.com warehouse, and my office is in the RV. In the office we call it the "Cone of Silence" because once the door is shut we can have private conversations.
