We have 2 cats in our 33-foot 5th wheel. We keep the cat box in the bottom of the linen cabinet in the bathroom where the washer/dryer would be if we had one. For their access, I cut out and framed an opening in the wall between the bedroom and the bathroom. It has worked great for almost 3 years of full-timing. I clean out the solids whenever I notice it has been used and I change the litter regularly. I also use a Glade "plug-in" and I do not notice any objectionable odors at all. The only problem I have (and it is a small one) is that they tend to track a little of the litter throughout the RV.

We lived on a sailboat for 21 years. One cat we had with us for 13 years and he used the toilet. When we got another cat, a rescue, the first thing
purchased was another training kit. He has moved into a fifth wheel with us and transition was no problem.

We have a 36-foot class A motorhome and a 10-pound Calico. We decided from the very beginning of our travels in 2006 that the litterbox would be out-of-sight and smell. We used the cabinet under the bathroom sink for a deep rubbermaid tub (12" tall, 20" long, 15" wide) as a litterbox. We put in a magnetic pet door on the side of the cabinet - yes, we cut a hole for the pet door, but well worth it. We figure we can replace the wood panel should we sell our RV in the future. Being in a cabinet helps contain smell and litter, but I still clean the box 1-2 times a day anyway by just opening the front cabinet doors. It's very easy to get into. I keep a solid air freshener that is pet safe in with the litterbox. Absolutely NO ONE knows we have a cat unless she is out and about, and NO ONE can ever find the litterbox. It is worth using the cabinet space for sure so that you are not moving it all the time or having it used during dinner. Wink

We have our litter box in the bedroom right by the door. When we travel I move it over just a little so the slide can come in and it's available while we move......Course they don't use it while we move but when we stop both of them are in there fighting over the potty.....just like us over the bathroom......
