I first time we had anything taken from our RV or site was this past August. One evening I came around the corner from the RV next to us and saw someone stealing beer out of the cooler. I yelled and he took off running with beer in hand.

Before becoming fulltimers, we took our motorhome in to an RV repair facility in Maryland to have some recall work done. We had just bought a new vacuum cleaner and wall hangings and when the motorhome was picked up, both were gone. We were told that this kind of thing (items missing after being in a repair facility) was a normal occurence. Is it?

Have been rving, mostly boondocking, in Mexico for eight years. Never once has anything been stolen.

I had a Coleman type refrigerator stolen from my site in a KOA while I was on the other side of the RV working on it. Then my Honda 2000 was taken at Quartzsite despite being chained AND my being inside my trailer.

I have never had anything stolen, but my Brother-in=law had his Honda generator stolen about three years ago when it was right next to his motorhome door.

Always use your deadbolt - we were robbed right in the middle of a Jellystone RV Park - at 10:30 in the morning. Using your keypad to lock your coach (if you have one) is THE worst thing you can do. Believe me :(

Telephonebill wrote, "We got to our campsite, dropped off our fire wood to make our mark" and came back later to find it gone. If there was no other indication that the campsite was occupied, I would assume the person thought the firewood was left. It is a common practice for campers to leave unused firewood for whomever wants it. Hey, maybe this is a future poll. . ."would you use left over firewood from an unoccupied campsite?"

I have never had anything taken, but someone tried to break into my Class A unit and damaged the lock and dead bolt to the point of almost not being usable.

No, but then we store our unit at home, stay only in campgrounds (i.e. KOA, GOOD SAM, etc.) Further we lock our dead bolt, and keep valuables out of sight. There is also a note on the door, "Beware of the Dog". No mean dog, but seems to work. Thanks for allowing our feedback. EJA
