It was an interesting "twist of fate," since Thomas Tingue is a Marion County sheriff's deputy. Since he was on vacation at the time, Tingue was officially "off duty," so he followed the trailer, eventually confronting the driver. The driver, Tommy Allan Behringer, told the deputy that the trailer's owner had asked him to tow it to North Carolina for him. After backup arrived the "on vacation" deputy and other officers put Behringer in irons and sent him on his way to the local lockup. And no, Tinque decided he didn't want the trailer.
